DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with Indigenous Arts Initiative visiting artist\, filmmaker Kyle Bell. \nBell will screen two of his short films: “Spirits (Poyvfeckv)” (2021) 9min\, and the documentary “Lakota”(2022)\, 16min\, followed by a Q&A moderated by KU Film and Media Studies Professor Joshua Miner. \nKyle Bell (Thlopthlocco Creek Tribal Town) is an Emmy award winning Director\, Editor and Cinematographer based in Tulsa\, OK. Bell is a 2019 Sundance Indigenous Program Alumni\, 2020 Tulsa Artist Fellow\, and is the Rolex Protégé to cinema legend Spike Lee. \nThis event is sponsored by the KU Powwow & Indigenous Cultures Festival and made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
