DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event has SOLD OUT.  \nCLICK HERE to join the waitlist! \nIn celebration of the Lawrence Public Library’s Booktoberfest\, Free State Festival and the Lawrence Arts Center Microcinema are proud to present a screening of the 1972 film Blacula in the haunted halls of 10th and Mass Studios. \nBooktoberfest is the Lawrence Public Library’s biggest event of the year for adult readers. Brought together by a shared love of reading\, the community reads a book together and explore its themes through a variety of thought-provoking events. This year’s book selection is Bram Stoker’s Dracula and this film screening will add to the conversation with special guest Giselle Anatol\, Executive Director of the Gunn Center for Science Fiction (and self-proclaimed vampire lore aficionado)\, in attendance for a post-screening discussion. \nABOUT THE FILM\nDuring a visit to Transylvania\, an African prince gets turned into a vampire by Count Dracula. Sealed in a coffin for several lifetimes\, Blacula reawakens in 1970s Los Angeles.
