DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE FILM\nAnnabel Hernandez\, a young woman with Down syndrome\, shares her love of performing and her unique perspective on life. This short film is an experiment in how the documentary genre can better\, and more authentically\, represent individuals who have intellectual disabilities as well as the diversity and vibrancy of a community that is often overlooked. \nFilm run time: 20 minutes \nPost-screening Q&A with Director/Director of Photography Ida Joglar and Co-writer/Producer Amity Hoffman will be moderated by Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission Accessibility Specialist Christie Scanlin Dobson\, PhD. \nThis free screening takes place in the Lawrence Arts Center Large Gallery amongst the exhibit In This Body\, I Persevere featuring work from twelve BIPOC artists from around the country. The gallery is located on the main floor of the Arts Center and is wheelchair accessible.
