DESCRIPTION:This summer\, Lawrence\, Kansas welcomes the Algerian national soccer team to town. Filmmakers Misti Boland and Jeremy Osbern have created a video installation that will run overnight from June 22 through June 28 in the storefront window of 836 Massachusetts Street. Featuring soccer scenes from across the Lawrence community\, the installation celebrates the beauty\, energy\, and shared language of the game — and Lawrence’s own connection to it.

Shot on the streets of Algiers in documentary style\, the film is a case study in modern warfare. The film won the prestigious Golden Lion at the 1966 Venice Film Festival\, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
