Thai Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s newest film is being innovatively distributed as a traveling moving-image art exhibit “moving from city to city\, theater to theater\, week by week\, playing in front of only one solitary audience at any given time” instead of a multi-city wide release according to film company Neon. The film stars Tilda Swinton and will ONLY be seen in theatres\, not on streaming platforms or DVD. Thanks to the Free State Festival\, Lawrence\, Kansas has been placed on the map for this art film’s unique journey\, so be sure to get your tickets while you can! \nAfter the screening\, audiences are invited to join area scholars for a roundtable conversation on the film’s use of sound at RPG- Restaurant Pub & Games (724 Massachusetts St) as part of the Arts Center’s Science on Screen programming. \n\nGUEST SPEAKERS: \nRobert Hurst\, KU Film & Media Studies\nScott Murphy\, KU School of Music\n\nPre-show Meditative Sound Bath by Kate Christopher from 6:55-7:15pm! \nKate Christopher has over 14 years of combined experience in sound healing\, reiki and pranic healing.
