FSF24 Artwork Reveal: Poster Art by Blanca Herrada

This year’s festival poster was designed by Lawrence artist Blanca Herrada! Tickets and passes for the 2024 Free State Festival (June 25-30) are now on sale, so these beautiful posters will be hitting downtown storefronts soon.

ABOUT THE ART
“I specifically chose to do a dark/nighttime look to invoke the excitement of walking through a movie theatre to see a new film. I also wanted to focus on lighting and bring more attention to how lights bounce off of dark spaces while adding depth and ambiance. I feel like most people can relate to the experience of walking into a theatre and excitedly waiting for that moment when the show finally starts after the lights go down.” – Blanca Herrada
