Transformations by Alonso Mayo & Nina Leidersdorff
Four Kansas men prepare to go full drag for a pageant-style charity gala, and in the process, learn a thing or two about their drag queen mentors.
Alonso Mayo is an American Film Institute directing graduate from Lima, Peru. His thesis film “Wednesday Afternoon” won the Student Academy Award (Gold Medal – Narrative Category) and a DGA Student Award. He directed the Academy Award shortlisted documentary “Viva la Causa” and directed, shot and edited the interactive web series “Untitled Murder Project 2.0”. His first feature film, the dramedy “The Story of Luke” starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Seth Green, Cary Elwes and Kristin Bauer, premiered at the San Diego Film Festival, where it won Best Film.Alonso’s 2nd feature, the comedy “FIXED”, starring Andy Comeau, Courtney Henggeler, Nelson Franklin, Leonard Roberts and Alan Ruck, premiered at the 2017 Cinequest Film Festival and was released in February, 2018.
Nina is a graduate of the University of Copenhagen’s Film and Media Science Program and has an MFA from the Producing Program at the American Film Institute. Before moving to Los Angeles, Nina worked in the Danish Film & TV industry as a production manager, line producer and producer on commercials, music videos, TV series and documentaries. She has developed her own feature projects, including “The Story of Luke”, which she produced alongside Fred Roos (The Godfather II, Lost in Translation) and most recently, the comedy “FIXED“.
